World's Worst Blogger!

Wow, almost four months since my last update!  I have had an incredibly busy summer and fall so far, and you can find my most recent work on my facebook business page.

In other news....I am completely booked up this fall, but will be continuing with newborn and children's milestone sessions through the winter months.  If you are interested in a family portrait session, I will start shooting again in March or April.  Please call or email me at least one month in advance: 413.237.1707.

I love sessions with first time parents.  We usually have two hours together, and during the feeding breaks, we get to chat about new sleep schedules, the fact that nursing is not always easy, and sometimes, the labor day experience.  Then I get to sway the baby to sleep and ever so carefully position him into the basket without waking him.  It's a pretty fun challenge and I'm always proud of myself when it works.  ;)

The Joy School

One of the teachers in this preschool cooperative contacted me about having school photos taken, and since there are only eight students (this is a partial class shot), I took the job.  Each student posed in three locations while the others enjoyed a picnic on the lawn.  It was a lovely way to spend an hour on a sunny spring day!

I don't think there is anything more beautiful than a sleeping newborn.  I am so lucky that I get to hold these perfect little people and create images that will be treasured...memories of the sleepy, emotional, intense time that seems endless and then before you know it, you can't believe anyone was ever this small...

This is the second time Candy Glazer has asked me to cover the Longmeadow Democratic Town Committee's Democrat of the Year Breakfast.  The event is such an enjoyable change of pace for me!

I love bold colors.

One of the most frequently asked questions I receive is what the client should wear.  One opinion is "coordinating, but not matching," which I think this mom did beautifully!   It was still cold when we had this session, but the blues and yellows are so happy and remind me of summer!

and now he is standing up with assistance and wears a tie!

This mom called and inquired if one month old was too late for a newborn session.  No way!  The sleepy baby photos are less likely after the first two weeks, but now she has a memory of how tiny he was and that is what is important.

These sweet siblings were such a pleasure to photograph!  I will be posting this little guy's 1st birthday photos this summer--when we move from the studio to the outdoors!  I can't wait!!

Welcome to the world, baby girl.

Here is a recent baby announcement for a ten day old.  The middle photo of the big sister kissing her head was so tricky.  She had to "kiss and now freeze!" a bunch of times to try to get her to pause long enough on her sister's head to capture the kiss.  Then I gave her a bunch of stickers for her hard work.  ;)
